Best Soulful House Label 1996 – 2006
Soulfuric Records, Soulfuric Deep, and Soulfuric Trax are all record labels that specialise in house music. They were founded by Brian Tappert and Marc Pomeroy in the late 1990s.
Brian Tappert and Marc Pomeroy are both American DJ/producers who have been active in the house music scene since the early 1990s. They met in Orlando, Florida in the mid-1990s and soon began working together, initially as remixers for other artists. They later formed their own record label, Soulfuric Records, in 1996. Tappert and Pomeroy are also members of the production team known as Jazz-N-Groove and have worked with many well-known artists in the genre.
UBP (Urban Blues Project) is another project that they were both involved in. It is a collaborative effort between the two producers and Michael Paternostro, and have produced a number of popular house tracks over the years.
Claptomaniacs is another project associated with Soulfuric Records, and is a collaboration between Tappert and DJ John Julius Knight. The duo have released several successful tracks together under this name.
Soulfuric Records quickly gained a reputation for releasing high-quality house music, with a particular focus on soulful and funky sounds. The label’s roster of artists included DJ Sneak, John “Julius” Knight, and Hardsoul, among others. Over the years, Soulfuric Records has become one of the most influential and respected house music labels in the world.
In 2000, Tappert and Pomeroy launched Soulfuric Deep, a sub-label that focuses on deeper, more atmospheric house music. Soulfuric Trax followed in 2001, with a focus on more stripped-down, minimalistic tracks.
Today, Brian Tappert and Marc Pomeroy continue to run Soulfuric Records and its sub-labels, and they remain active as DJs and producers in the house music scene.
